Walking

For many, walking in the Medway Gap is a surprising experience. Travel just a short distance away from the main roads that run through the valley and you are suddenly transported to quiet and seemingly remote rural locations.

The banks of the river Medway are a natural place to explore, being flat with open views across the water to the valley sides. The riverside reedbeds and nature reserves are also home to a variety of wildlife including singing nightingales during the summer months.

Creating and enhancing riverside access is one of Valley of Visions' key objectives. Our ultimate aim is to create a complete riverside walk that will effectively join Maidstone and the Medway Towns.

During the life of Valley of Visions a number of new promoted circular walks will be created. Please return to this page later to find out more.
