Volunteering
Volunteering with Valley of Visions is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people and do something different. Whether practical conservation work, wildlife surveying or more office-based activities such as website updating interest you, our breadth of volunteering opportunities cater for everyone.
Currently we are looking for volunteers to be:
River Warden - To monitor wildlife, Collect Litter and report any problems such as fly tipping, pollution, invasive plants etc. No qualifications or experience required. Some wildlife i.d is useful but not essential and can be improved on over time. Volunteers must be fit and healthy enough to walk their chosen stretch.
Office Volunteer - To assist the Valley of Visions team with office tasks such as organising events, training courses and conferences; monitoring promotion and press releases in local press; and website updating. Volunteer needs to be computer literate.
Public Rights of Way Warden - Survey the public rights of way within a parish within the Valley of Visions project area to identify path condition, issues, opportunities and improvement. Undertake a regular (monthly) survey of the rights of way in a given parish.
BTCV Tree Warden - To record, monitor and help conserve trees in a parish within the Valley of Visions project area. No particular skills are required as training is provided.
Promotion and Marketing Co-ordinator - To co-ordinate marketing and promotion of Valley of Visions. Establish and maintain contacts with local press; write and distribute press releases; and regularly check local press for articles about Valley of Visions. Volunteer needs experience of promotion and marketing; and be computer literate.
Medway Mosaics Volunteer - No previous experience is needed; just an enthusiasm for your local area! We have an extensive range of resources to help you get started including a FREE launch event on Sunday 25th April at The Friars, Aylesford. We want to find out about historic gems and local mysteries from your village and of the surrounding fields, woods, tracks and paths. We will then put these all onto a map to build up a picture of how your village has been shaped by its past.
