Planning Aid
Planning Aid aims to empower local communities throughout the UK by helping them to effectively engage with the planning process and influence decisions that affect their towns, villages and neighbourhoods.
Planning Aid complements the work of local planning authorities, but is wholly independent of them. In England Planning Aid is run by the Royal Town Planning Institute and is funded by the Department of Communities and Local Government as one of the key aims of the government's planning reform agenda is to place community engagement at the heart of the planning system.
Planning Aid also provides a free, independent and professional planning advice relating to specific planning applications or queries for communities and individuals who cannot afford to pay planning consultant fees. This case work service for Planning Aid South East can be accessed through dialling 0870 850 9806. Jill Harris can be contacted through dialling 07815 793813.
